Candlelighters Pink and Black Gala 2019

Together we CAN Fight childrens cancer

Candlelighters is a Yorkshire run charity that raises money for children with cancer and their families while in hospital. It could be something small like a cup of tea or as large as a family holiday. Bringing the family together is their job and making sure each family member receives their support.

At Headingley Stadium, Leeds, on the 20th July 2019, IMA hosted a special Pink and Black Gala raising around £1200 on the night for Candlelighters. Working for IMA Anne Nicholson worked with the team from Candlelighters to bring people together to raise this large amount. Working out games and prizes to be played on the night, location and entertainers, as well as organising the evening of entertainment and table layouts. A lot of work is needed and a great job was done.

Very exciting games were played by the host and all made welcome to join in. Playing right or wrong answer but answering with only two motions of the host choice, some worrying faces to start but faces soon turned to smiles. This was in the breaks of service from the amazing 3 course meal that was served. Table cost were £55pp or £500per table of 10.

There was some great prizes to be won, an African safari to Signed football jerseys and the odd bottle of bubbly. Each person left the night with a winning gift from the balloon popping raffle near the end of the evening.
