Night Sky Workshops at Brimham Rocks

Rocks and Stars

One of my favorite places around Harrogate to take pictures of the night sky is the National trust site of Brimham rocks. With its elevated location you can see Harrogate just 11 miles away. This helps when getting beneath the rocks and into another world when looking up at the stars. Lights from Harrogate and surrounding cities but with Nidderdale behind not creating too much light you can see the stars on a clear night.

Over the winter period I will be heading up here a couple of times and if you are wishing to learn how to take pictures of the stars and the milky way (hard to get but is possible). I can show you how.
There will be some walking involved and no climbing (its dark and dangerous). Suitable footwear must be worn, it can be boggy in some places but paths are kept well all year round.
